Dr. Seb Carney, Head of Environment, Social, Governance and Sustainability, Daisy Group

Seb supports the corporate and business unit strategies around ESG. This has both an internal and external focus. It has included the implementation and alignment to the Wates Corporate Governance Principles. The implementation of a range of policies, particularly the reinforcement of the businesses’ people focus. He works closely with the CEO, COO and wider boards to help realise the organisation’s wider objectives. This includes substantial outreach, to build strong partnerships, internal and external goals. This will enable Daisy to strengthen closely with others. This, partnership reinforcement, is a crucial element of the role is one of Daisy’s three values, and is one that is in the interests of all parties. The positive mantra being: “to build a better planet, together with our people and wider partners in the interests of all stakeholders”. Seb has worked globally supporting countries, cities and businesses realise their goals. This encompasses the environmental, social and economic implications.

Thierry Roussin, CEO, AguiaLabs

Thierry is the founder of AguiaLabs, a global consultancy that helps large organizations focus on purpose and build disruptive business models that generate sustainable both economic value and societal impact, and ultimately, systems change. Specialist of value creation, he also advises leaders on driving business and cultural innovation in complexity. He dedicates part of his time as a pro bono advisor to social startups and changemakers in Europe and Africa, and is involved in the development of impact finance and higher education programs focused on impact. Thierry lives in Paris, France.

Maiden R. Manzanal-Frank, MA

Maiden is known as the Global Strategist. She advises governments, businesses, non-profits, and international organizations to achieve their impacts with precision and sustainability. As the Founder and President of GlobalStakes Consulting, she is a global impact advisor, an award-winning diversity champion, consultant, speaker, coach, upcoming author, and mentor to many aspiring social innovators around the world.

She is the Bhichai and Khunying Charoye Rattakul Scholar for Peace and Conflict Resolution at the Rotary Peace Center in Chulalongkorn University, Thailand. She was an award recipient of the Outstanding Diversity Outreach and Communications Award from the Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards for leading one of the most successful community diversity projects in Canada. 

Her professional and consulting experience spans two decades in the area of global humanitarian and aid development, economic development, and cross-cultural management working with municipalities, international organizations, and advisory councils at the national, regional, and international levels. She has lived on two continents, traveled in 33 countries, and worked in 14 countries in Asia. She had consulting work in Canada and internationally. 

She lectures at the Red Deer Polytechnic Division for Advanced Education and Rotary Peace Fellowship Centre at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand on leadership, management, intercultural teams, social change, and strategy.

Dr Rita Klapper, Reader in Enterprise and Sustainability, Manchester Metropolitan University, UK

Rita teaches and researches at the interface between entrepreneurship, sustainability and leadership, very often using innovative learning tools drawing on creative arts and contemplative methods as well as technology-based engagement tools.  She benefits from a PhD in Entrepreneurship and MPhil in Sustainability, and is accredited as Executive Coach and Mentor with the Institute for Leadership and Management (ILM), UK.  She has very significant experience of coaching and mentoring for different clients (eg. Association of Business and Society (ABIS) as well as Academy of Management (AOM).  She has worked as external expert for the European Institute for Innovation (EIT) (raw materials section & climate change) for business idea and business plan assessments, as well as external examiner at two UK universities for MScs in International Entrepreneurship and a MSC in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

Dr Jorge Emilio Núñez, PhD in Law (University of Manchester, UK) is Reader in Legal and Political Philosophy and International Relations at Manchester Law School and Professor de Derecho at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. His areas of research include jurisprudence, legal theory, political theory and international relations. Dr Núñez has produced various international publications and attended events worldwide as a key speaker. His most recent publications are Territorial Disputes and State Sovereignty (2020) and Sovereignty Conflicts and International Law and Politics (2017).
